Sydney

The capital of the State of New South Wales is Sydney. As the largest city in Australia, it has about four million citizens. It was created in 1788 and is the site of the first British colony. Sydney Australia has been dubbed the “Harbour City” because it is an entrance to the Tasman Sea. The climate of Sydney is a wonderful blend of warm summers and cool winters. January has the highest temperatures in the seventies high. July is the coldest month is usually low temperatures in the forties. Rainfall occurs and the city receives about fifty centimeters of rain per year. Most rainfall occurs in March.

Taronga Zoo is a fun way to spend the day. The zoo is located on the waterfront and can be traveled by ferry to the water. There are many different types of animals housed there. The zoo often hosts nights sleep at the zoo as well as programs for children during holiday periods.

Any lover of plants will be captivated by the Royal Botanic Garden. These gardens are beautiful and just beautiful. All types of plant life and flowers abound in the Royal Botanic Garden. The garden offers many programs for the community. There are guided tours and self guided tours available. Some of the walking tours occur noon. The Royal Botanic Garden is located near the Opera.

Sydney Australia is a city well worth the visit. Attractions abound and there are so many different activities to choose to occupy your time. Whether a person would lie on the beach, get up close and personal with wild animals, listen and look beautiful artistic performances or walk through beautiful gardens, Sydney is a destination that offers many wonderful ways to spend a holiday.
